Last of Christmas Cards!

Just posting a few of the Christmas cards I made. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I just had a few more cards that I made this past week, as well as some thank you cards I wanted to post. Not done for any challenges, but I sure had fun making them.

This first one is made with a Close to My Heart stamp set-'Snow Days". Sure do like these stamps. I stamped the house with memento Tuxedo Black on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers and cut it out. I then stamped the bridge twice on white cardstock & colored with copics. I stamped snowflakes on the sky with Versamark and SU Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I then smudged on some TH Weatherd wood for a winter sky. I added stickles to the snow and popped the house image up with SU dimensional foam dots. I then mounted the panel on a red card base.

For this card I used a stamp set I've had awhile, not sure the name of it. It's colored with Copics, added stickles for the star and decorations. Cut out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals, added a red background cut wiht Spellbinders big Scalloped ovals. The Paper is from a K & Co. Christmas mat pad, Red cardstock is Bazzil. The border is cut with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents, and I added some Stampendous Hallographic dots and dashes stikers to it. Snowflake is cut with SU Northern Frost strip die from red and shiny gold paper. Sentiment is gold stickers.

This is a very simple card made with white cardstock which I stamped the thank you on, then ran through the cuttlebug with a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder. The focal is a Penny Black stiker mounted first on a scrap of green, cut out around the sticker, and then mounted that on a red scrap, and I distressed the edges of the red panel. The snowflake is cut with SU Northern Frost strip die from green scrap and added a white glitter dome on top.

This one I made with a Darcie stamp set, Snowman Wishes (I have had the set for a couple of years and never used it. I have no idea where I even got it). I stamped it twice (mainly because when I went to color it the first time, I messed it up). Stamped with Momento TB, colored with Copics. The hat is a seperate stamp, so when I colored that and cut it out and put it on, I decided it needed some of the other pieces like that, too. So I colored the bird and mug from the piece I messed up, cut them out and mounted them with pop-up dots. The mug a coated with versamark and clear embossed it. I added stickles to the snow and snowflakes. On the card base I stamped the HNY from the set with Versa Magic Turquoise Gem ink, and then ran the front through the cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder. Turned out so cute!

This one is made with the a Holly embossing folder which I then added chalk to the raised leaves and berries. The ornament & sentiment is a Justrite stamp colored with copics, embossed with clear powder, and hand cut out. I added a rhinestone to the center. The tags are cut with my Cricut-yeah, I used my cricut-gotta make more use of that thing! The snowflakes are again using the SU snowflake die-love those snowflakes. I added a border of gold cut wiht a border punch. Green DP is K & Co.

This was a very simple card-just looks like a lot of work-teehee! The paper is from a DCWV winter stack that I got at Micheals last year. The focal is cut from one of the pieces of that paper, mounted on salmony pink Bazzil cardstock. the tag is made with SU small & Large tag punch.  The sentiment is from a HOTP mixed messages set stamped with Memento Lady bug. Border is a scrap I had in my stack. I added stickles to the snowflakes, mounted the tag with a brad, added a star to the middle tree. Mounted on a piece of the pink cardstock and added to a white card base. It's soo pretty for being so simple to make.

Now I'm off to clean my crafting space-looks like a cyclone went through there-and I'm not kidding. Needs serious re-organizing. Which is just not my thing.
Hope you enjoy my creations. Hopefully in the new year I will post more often, and not all at one time. Ta ta for now!

Puttin on the Ritz

This card was for the Paper Pal Arts Challenge (Puttin' on the Ritz), which I missed by 1/2 hour. It seems when these challenges end at noon, I always miss the deadline.
Anyway, here is the card:

The challenge was Puttin' on the Ritz - which to me meant clean and sophisticated, with a little glimmer. I used an old card  I had received at one time and had cut apart to be reused. The base is some Bazzil cardstock. The next layer I cut from the re-purposed card and rounded opposite corners with a corner rounder. I mounted the focal image on some dark purple Bazzil cardstock. I added some glimmer with a Versamark pen and SU Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I added a border strip cut from the dark purple with a border punch. The sentiment is from SU teeny tiny wishes, stamped with versamark and used amethyst embossing powder and heat set. I added some purple rhinestones to finish it off. It really is quite 'Ritzy'.

Here Comes Santa

.
This card is for 2 challenges- Crazy 4 Challenges C4C117 (to have Santa on it) and the My Favorite things Wednesday Stamp Club MFTWSC49. But I think I missed the deadline for for the MFT. However I will enter it in C4C challenge.

I began with running the card base through the Cuttlebug with a snowflake folder. I turned the sketch sideways. The next layer is a K&Co. border sticker from teh Elizabeth Brownd line. Layer 3 is DP from 3BIAR-Peppermint stick, mounted on some green Bazzil Cardstock. I stamped the Santa (Rubber Stampede) with Memento Lady Bug Red, and colored him with Copic markers. I added some silver to the snowflakes and his glasses with Versamark pen and Stampendous Detail Silver embossing powder, and heat set. I then used the Versamark pen and SU iridescent Ice embossing powder for his beard and hat, and on the snowflakes on the base card. . I cut the snowflakes out of green and white scraps with the SU Northern Frost snowflake die. The setiment is a silver sticker. Added a few red rhinestones, and he's done.

Peace, Love, Joy

Back with another Christmas Card today. I love making Christmas cards more than any others! This one works for the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C115  to have snow on your creation, and Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time Challenge (SNTODBD48)! , to creat a christmas theme project.

The cardstock is Bazzil. The DP is SEI Alpine Frost. The image and verse is from Our Daily Bread Designs 'Sacred Season" (love this set!). I stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and colored the image with Copic markers. I applied a little bit of Stardust stickles to the snow on the branc and some Copper Stickles on the cones. I punched a snoflake out of gold shiny posterboard, and cut white one with a cuttle bug die. I then layerd them and added a gold rhinestone to the center. I finished it off with a flourish cut from the gold shiny posterboard with a sizzix die.

Christmas Blessings

Here I am again with another card to post. 2 in one day. I made this one for the WHAT IF? Wednesday ~ sketch challenge N1611.  Here is the sketch-

Repeat Impressions Sketch N1611  and here is my card.

I turned the sketch on it's side for this one and made a 7" x 3 1/2" card. The DP is from my Christmas scrap pile, so I'm not sure what it is. The stamps are from Our Daily Bread Designs-Sacred Season. I colored them with light colored Copic markers to look somewhat like watercolor, and added SU iridescent embossing powder to the snow and a little on the pine cones using a Versamark pen. I cut the red background out with Spellbinders Deckled rectangles. For the snowflakes I covered a piece of white cardstock with versamark ink and SU Iridescent Embossing powder and then cut out them out with a Sizzix die, attached with glue dots, then put some white rhinestones in the middle of them. I added some white craft ribbon, then a piece of narrow green ribbon on top of that. Hope you like!

'Tis the Season

This card if for the Card Patterns Sketch challenge #142
Current Sketch
Used some Christmas cardstock and stickers a friend gave me. The base, border and embellishment are cut from Bazzil cardstock. The border is cut with a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch, the green piece behind the sticker is cut with Spellbinders decorative labels. I added some Stampendous dot stickers to the label, some white ribbon over the border. Simple, but pretty.

Let it snow. . . .

but not until after this weekend! Going on a scraping weekend retreat with part of my crafting group. Can't wait-should be lots of fun.
I made this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday#142-It sparkles, shines and glistens on the landscape. Let’s capture some of that snowy sparkle on our cards or creations!

I've used a conglamorations of companies products on this card!  Mostly because I got my challanges mixed up, so here we go.....
I used a new Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set-Sacred Season-as the focal. Colored it with Copics, added some stardust Stickles for the snow, and some cinnamon stickles on the pinecones. I used the SU ticket corner punch on the corners. I brushed on some gold Perfect pearls around the edges for shine and ran a brown marker around the edges to define it. The swirl is a Sizzix die. The snowflakes are cut with the SU Northern Frost die. I stacked 3 snowflakes, added some stardust gg and a rhinestone. The DP is from Hot Off the Press, a winter pad I got with the last Cardmaking and Papercrafts Mag. The green backing paper is Bazzil.
Here is the inside. I again used the ticket corner punch, scraps of the DP, and little bits of the swirls. The verse is computer generated.
Thanks for looking. Leave a comment, I always like to hear from viewers.

Noel

Hi all out there is blog land. Here is another Christmas card. This one is for the MOJO Monday sketch challange #212
I actually set out today to clean and organize my sewing room (clean up from the mess that resulted when I forgot to put the plug back in my washer drain). I actually got started on that, but my papers were calling me!! :-)
I am in the process of organizing my christmas papers in preperation for a scrapping retreat we are going to in ELEVEN DAYS!! Wooho! can't wait.
Anyway, I came across these awsome Bo Bunny papers and Penny Black stickers I got after the holidays last year. I know I didn't purchase them together, but they sure do go together.
The back ground DP is BoBunny Midnight Frost Snowfall, and the stripe is BBMF Stripe (what else would it be called!) I used a Martha Stewart snowflake PATP for the bottom of the snowman layer. The little tag is a stamp from Justrite's 'Deck the Halls' cling set. I stamped it with Versa magic on white cardstock. I cut it out with the Spellbinders Heirloom ornament 2011 set. Then I covered it with versamark ink and clear embossing powder and heat set. I stamped the ornament topper with Memento Black and colored it with copic N4 neutral gray. I covered it with the versamark and heat embossed and fussy cut it out. I then heated up the top of the ornament, set the topper on, heated it again, and applied more versamark and heated it again. Whew! A few steps. but I love how it turned out. I actually did the ornament in burgundy first, but it just didn't look right. (so now I have an ornament for another project)  I tied it on with some simple white ribbon and was done! I really like it, hope you do , too.

CAS Christmas C4C

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since I posted! It's not that I haven't been doing any crafting-I actually made 35 Christmas cards over the last couple weeks. The local Michaels store did a couple workshops to make Christmas cards to send to the troops. I made a few at the workshops, but made a bunch more a home, too. I have to figure out how to do a slide show on here, then I will post some of those pics.

This card I made for the Crazy for Challanges #110: One-Layer CAS – cards with the base of the card as the only “layer” today! Only exception is cutting out images and/or one die-cut embellishment.
I actually made 3 cards following this theme, but the first 2 I wasn't satisfied with. This one worked the best for me (I'll include the other 2 below so you can compare).
I embossed the base with Cuttlebug Grace's frame embossing folder. The stamp is from a new Recollections christmas set. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession CL44 Christmas Sentiments Clear stamp set. I stamped with Colorbox Evergreen tree and used Ranger Rainbow Sparkle embossing powder. I added some green glitter domes to the corners, and some simple gold line stickers to frame the image.

These 2 cards are the ones I wasn't so pleased with-they're okay, but not my best. Used the same stamp and another from the set :-) I tried to emboss the frame by drawing in the lines with and embossing pen and using silver embossing powder. My hand is not steady enough to get the lines even-so I'm not pleased with this. On the other, the image didn't emboss very well. Oh, well, someone will like them ;)

Card patterns challange

Here is a little Christmas card for the Card Patterns Sketch Challange 134 here.
Here is the sketch.

And here is my card. I used the new papers I received with my October Cardmaking and Papercrafts Mag. It's "My Minds Eye" Snowed In Winter Papers. The green and red cardstock mats are from my stash-probably Recollections. I punched the border on the red with Martha Stewart Poinsettia border punch. I poped that layer up with dimensionals. I added some gold border stickers to the edges, and 4 little buttons for the focals. Quite CAS. Hope you like.

New cards

Here are a few more cards I've done in the past couple weeks.

CR84FN39 challange

I haven't been posting much lately-busy,busy. I have had time to make a few cards, tho. Today I am entering this card in the Create for Fun color challenge #39-to use orange, yellow and brown.
I have a number of people with anniversaries this fall, as well as birthdays, so most of my fall cards seem to fall into these 2 catagories.

For the image I used the new SU fall set 'Always Thankful', stamped in Stayz-on Timber Brown. I colored it with Prima colored pencils and oderless mineral spirits. I used a Versamark pen and clear embossing poweder on the can.  I cut the image and mat (SU Crushed Cury)  out with Spellbinders labels 4. I chalked around the image with light blue and around the inside edge of the die with yellow Pebbles chalks-Basics. The DP is a piece of DCWV fall stack that was laying in my box-I used it as it was-didn't cut it again. I'm challenging myself to use unusual pieces and shapes;) The orange layer I embossed with the new CheeryLyn falling leaves embossing plate-love that-so pretty! I added some crochet lace trim (from my sewing stash) to the edge. The sentiment is from Verve stamps, stamped with versarmark and chocolate embossing powder. The little flowers are off of a fall stem, and I used copper brads for the centers. I added a little bit of gold stickles to the wheat heads.
I am also entering this over at Crazy for Challanges #106, which was to do a Halloween or Fall theme card. I'm not much into Halloween, but I love fall!

Happy Anniversary

Quick post tonight. Here is a card for the Paper Pal Arts 112-CAS Elements of Style Challange.
Dp is Colorboc, cardstock brown-Bazzil, blue is Paper pazzaz. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the blue 'lace' edge. I stamped the sentiment (Verve Stamps) with versarmark and used chocolate embossing poweder and heat st. The little butterfly is an velvet 'iron-on' which I choose to glue on the wrong side. I liked it better than the velvet side. I added 2 little green rhinestones. Clean and simple!

Autumn B-Day

Another post for today. I'm on a roll-teehee. And I love making fall cards! Soooooooo-

Current Sketch

This card is made using the Card Patterns Sketch 131 . The DP is DCWV Havest Gathering Matstack and the cardstock is the coordinating DCWV Harvest Matstack. I stamped the pumpkin (Inkadinkado Clear mini Autumn ast.) on Bazzil classic Ivory CS with Tim Holtz distress ink-Rusty Hinge and the leaf-flourish with Kalaidascope Autumn Daze, and heat embossed it. (I cut the stamp apart to stamp the pumpkin and leaf seperately). I cut the image circle out with Spellbinders classic circles and sponged around it wit Pebbles Earthtones chalks. I cut the back with Spellbinders Lacy circles. After I had the card assembled I didn't like how the first stamping turned out, so I stamped it again and hand cut it and popped it on top with foam dots. I added a copper flourish sticker (Recollections), some  fall leaf stickers (K&Co), some rhinestones (Basic Grey Bling It) and a butterfly (Martha Stewart). The scalloped border is EK Success. The Happy Birthday is a Starforms sticker.

Happy 6th Birthday

Wow, hard to believe it is already September. Even harder to believe, my second to youngest grandson is already 6. He was so excited, he turned 6 on the first day of 1st grade. (Even tho he said he wanted to go back to kindergarten because they had more toys there!)
I am entering this in the Our Daily Bread Stamps Shining the light challenge 74, which was to use dots or stripes. There are really lots of dots on this ! I really had some fun with this card.
The DP is from a ColorBok Mat stack-Friendly Forest-I bought a while back and just 'un-earthed' when I was organizing. The card base is SU Garden green. I used 2 of the DP for the background, the bottom one had the animals aready on it. I stamped the tree trunk and top (Hampton Arts Clear-Trees) on 2 more of the DPs and cut them out. I free hand cut the 6. The Bunny and frog under the tree are cut from the corners of 2 papers and mounted on foam dots. The ballons (hero Arts Birthday Messages clear) are stamped with SU inks and hand cut. Front 3 are mounted with foam dots. The little bird in the tree is also from the Trees stamp set. I added some googly eyes to some of the critters and stickles to others. I also added stickles to the birds wing, as well as the frog and bunny.

I stamped a number of the sentiments from the Messages set on the inside, as well as a ballon. The 2 trees are a Verve stamp and a Clear Dollar stamp I stamped on the DP and cut out. The hedgehop is part of the red DP.

IN Our Prayers

I made this card for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge #133. The challenge this go round is 'Bingo'.
Bingo rules* ~ select 3 items that are in a straight line, either horizontal, vertical or diagonal and use these on your card/ project.

I chose to do the center horizontal row-embossing, pearls & color 'pink'. And I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions sketch challenge #145.

The DP is from 'The Paper Studio'-Mirabelle Floral & Mirabelle Plaid (so vintage-y). The background grey cardstock is Bazzil (I have no idea the color-it's from a bargain pack I bought at a little craft store when I was visiting my sister in downstate Michigan a year ago). I stamped the sentiment (Flourishes Simply Sophisticated set) with Versamark and used Cleartops Opal Victorian Rose embossing powder. I cut it out with Spellbinders Bumped Out Ovals and highlighted around the inside of the die  with Pebbles Chalks-Earthtones.
I used Co'ordinations Pink cardstock cut out with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Pendants to back the sentiment. I used Spellbinders Fancy tags 3 to cut out an additional element to accent the sides. I added some Recollections white pearls. I attached it with foam dots.
The ribbon/lace is Offray Holiday ribbon I've had forevvvver (the sticker on the roll is from WOOLWORTH'S! How long have they been gone?)  The pearl button is also from my stash.

mojo

I have a card today for the MOJO206 sketch challenge.

I made this card for one of the gals in my craft group for her anniversary. I really liked this sketch this week.

The image is from Flourishes new set 'Zinnias'. I love this set!!!!!! I stamped it on Bazzil simply smooth white cardstock with memento Rich cocoa and colored it with copics. The 2 background DPs are from a download from 'Cardmaking and Papercrafts' magazine-these fall papers in this download are scrumptious. The striped DP is from DCWVs Citrus Stack. I mounted the backgroud papers on a base of  Co'ordinations coffe cardstock. The image panel and stripe are mounted on some burgundy cardstock that I love. But as I bought the pack when I was first crafting, and didn't know enough to make a note of the product name at the time---I now have no idea what it is, and I WANT MORE! Oh, well, maybe I'll come across it again someday.
I cut the two from panels and mats out with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles. I punched a strip of gold cardstock with MS arches punch and attached it over the joint of the background DPs. I popped the image panel up with foam dots. The sentiment is from Verve's 'Love Story" set, stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Stampendous Chocolate EP. I cut it out with Spellbinders ovals and the panel of Co'rd cardstock with Spellbinders Classic Ovals. I attache dit with a thicker foam dot.
The butterfly is cut out with SU beautiful wings embosslit from gold Spellbinders Craft foil and some of the background DP, and layered. I added some red rhinestones to the smaller butterfly. I added some gold stikcers to the corners, and 3 orange pearls above the image panel.
I even finished the inside this time! I used the same DPs as on the front, also used a piece fo the border. The sentiment is computer generated. Hope you like.

prayer request & A Friend is Someone who

I am asking for prayers for my brother (Sonny-77) who apears to be having some heart issues, possibly having a stent inserted today. Prayers for successful procedure, guidance for the doctors and medical staff, his recovery. But most of all-that God's will be done.

Now, here is another sketch challange today.  This one is for My Favorite Things Sketch Challange #33. I really love playing with these blue and brown papers. These are colors I would have never put together years ago. But they are so pretty together-who knew
Here is the sketch--

And here is my card.

The DPs are from a pad from Colorbok called 'Earth Tones'-all blues and browns. Such pretty papers. The blue cardstock is Bazzil. I used the Spellbinders Classic Circles lg to cut a piece from one of the DPs, and mounted it on Bazzil blue cardstock cut with the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents. I added a little Stardust stickles to the flower and some Recollections silver pearls and attached it to the card with foam dimensionals. The brown DP was already embossed on the leaves-love that-saves me a step;0.
The sentiment is from SUs God's Blessings set. I stamped it on plain white cardstock with Versamark clear and used Chocolate e.p. I cut it out & embossed it with Spellbinders classic squares. The mat for it is also cut with Spellbinders c.s.. The white scallop accent strip is cut with a MS double arch punch, I added some recollections silver pearls on the scallops. I added some blue organdy beading ribbon around the panel and attached a bow of the same ribbon. I really like this sketch. One I will certainly use again.

Blessings to all-thanks for looking.

MOJO 204

Hi all, very tired today! We went to the U.P. Fair yesterday-funny how walking around and around and around can tire one out so much! Hmm-maybe I'm just getting old(er).:)
Anyway, want to get this loaded up so I can go get some work done-time to clean-again!

I made this card for the MOJO Monday 204 Sketch challange.
The background cardstock is from The Paper Loft Whitewashed Nautical Series, the stripe from Fresh Print paper Cranberry Stripe. I embossed it with the Sizzix Stars & Swirls folder using my CB. The flower image is from the new SU Hostess set 'Faith in Nature', the sentiment from SU 'Peace Within' set. I stamped teh flower on white cardstock using SU Ruby Red and the sentitment with VersaMagic Night Sky. I also edged the image panel with the Ruby Red. I mounted both the image panel and the stripe DP on cranberry cardstock, as well as the corner piece (I really wish I knew what the cardstock is, because I love it-but did I save the cover to the pack? Of course not.) I adhered the image panel with foam dimensionals. The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn Mini Butterflies die. I added some silver pearls to the center. The buff strip is a piece from my scraps. hope you like.

Monochromatic BDay CArd

I made this card for my Husband for his Birthday-well, sort of. I almost didn't get it done before his BD was over!!! I had sooo much trouble getting the image to stamp right. I had this idea in my head, but transferring it to paper---ummm, not so easy. The stamp set if from Gina K Designs-Life is Good, except the trees on the left- they are SU 'Lovely as a Tree' set. After many false starts-hair standing on end-I finally was okay with this panel. I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa on off white cardstock.  Other than the stamped image, the rest of it came together pretty easy. The DP is from HOTP Masculine Papers pack. The ribbon is SU Cho. chip. The little buckle is from JoAnns embellishments. The little tag is a stamp from a clear set that I have no idea what it is because I don't have the package anymore. I simply cut it out by hand. I tied it on with a bit of natural color twine. I am entering it in the Crazy 4 Challanges C4C100.   The challange this rotation is for Monocromatic. I kept it all in the brown/rust tones.

By the Sea

Wow, can't believe it is already Thursday night. Where on earth did this week go? I've been making pickles, and freezing beans, and chasing grandkids-that's where it went, I guess. Did manage to squeeze in a couple cards along the way, tho.

I made this one for my friend's Wedding Anniversary using the colors from the CR84FN 36 Color challange.

The base card is from Kraft.. The yellow DP is from English Garden by Making Memories. I distressed and inked the edges of the piece before I fastened it to the base. The seashells and seagulls are from Crafty Secrets Clearart stamp set "Seaside".  I stamped them with Memento Rich Cocoa. The image of the couple is from SU's set 'By the Sea'. I stampedthe image and the sentiment on Bazzil Simply Smooth White cardstock with Versamark ink and used Stampendous 'Peridot' embossing powder. I cut it out the image with Spellbinders Labels 4 large, the largest one. For the kraft mat I traced around the outside of the die and hand cut out. I used Pebbles earthtones chalks to highlight around the inside of the die (before I cut it out-I find that works best for me). I then used the Pebbles Classic pastel chalks to color in the stamped image.I  cut and matted the sentiment using Spellbinders classic ovals. I liked how this turned out so well I made another one to have on hand. Hope you like.

Be fruitful

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challange #130-was to create a paper-crafted design using the image of fruit, dp with fruit or embellishments with fruit. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I REALLY had to dig for something with FRUIT! I finally found some DP with fruit on it. Then I had to figure out what to do wiht it! LOL You'd think that would be so easy-ha, not for me. So, as my friend and crafting buddy says-it is what it is! Here's what I finally came up with....

I found a piece of DP that had a border of watermelon, and a border of strawberries. I cut them out and mounted them on a piece of yellow/red dot paper from my scraps and mounted that on a piece of red cardstock both cut out with Spellbinders rectangle dies. I decided to try my hand at adding some stitching-not my best effort-have to work on that some more. I popped the watermelon up with some foam dots. The sentiment is from an ODBD birthday set. I mounted the panel on a card made from green cardstock cut out with Spellbinders for a shaped card. I have to do more of that, too, I really like how it turned out. I added some green ribbon and a bow tied off with a button and some floss from my really, really, really old supply of floss (from when I was first married if you can belive that. And we will have our 36 Anniversary next month!).  A nice summery birthday card. Thanks for looking.
